Hello to everybody, I'm writing here for a problem and a suggestion. First, I'm living in Italy, so I'm using EURO isdn as a protocol. I use synchronous PPP to connect (using interface isp0..) and sometimes I get disconnected with no apparent reason. The isdn connection is working fine all the times, but after this kind of disconnection my only choice is to reboot the machine.. I've tried killing isdnd, ifconfig delete down the interface, route flush, and so forth.. nothing to do. That's the logfile when I try to reconnect (using either the 'link1' mode or the regular 'up' mode of the interface), I hope it can be of any use: i4b-L3 T303_timeout: SETUP not answered, cr = 3 i4b-L3 next_l3state: FSM illegal state, state = ST_OW - Out Wait EST, event = EV_T303EXP - T303 timeout! i4b-L2 i4b_ph_data_ind: ERROR, I-frame < 6 octetts! i4b-L1 dchan_receive: bad read status 0xb1 i4b-L2 i4b_rxd_u_frame: not mine - UNKNOWN TYPE ERROR, sapi = 32, tei = 41, frame = 0x83 0x53 0x23 and so on. Tell me please if I have to post more logs, more info, etc. isdnd version is: isdnd - i4b ISDN manager daemon, version 00.96.0, Apr 20 2001 11:38:34 and the freebsd version is FreeBSD altOforno 4.3-RC3 FreeBSD 4.3-RC3 #0: Tue May 15 11:08:50 GMT 2001 I had to use the isdn4bsd package downloaded from the main website, since the isdn4bsd included in freebsd does not support any more my isdn adapter (winbond based). -- now, the suggestion: since I have no way to know in advance my isp remote address when they assign my dynamic ip address, I was lost: I had to go trough the source code and find out that if I put as the remote address 0.0.0.1 I'll be able to use any ip which is assigned to me, as in ifconfig isp0 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.255 up ...now, I haven't find it in ANY of the faq/documentation, so either I missed it or it would be better to write it down somewhere. thanks for listening to me and sorry for bugging you guys -- lorenzo grespan lorenzo@transbay.net To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-isdn" in the body of the message
