I screwed up and didn't edit the right mail notification script; no notification whatsoever of this event was intended, hence the null commit message. This whole action was supposed to be done in a quiet and low-key fashion, by direct agreement of all parties involved, but I obviously didn't quite manage to pull that off. As I just put it to someone else, Matt Dillon is not going away, he's just changing seats. The committer seat was getting too warm for comfort and David, Alan and Julian will be sharing the hotseat on Matt's behalf for the near future at least. But honestly, the less said about this the better, and not because something truly horrific happened which you should all be spared from, but because creating a thread on the topic will be the exact opposite of what is optimal here.
