One thing to note is that there are daily snapshots available for FTP
installs from releng4.freebsd.org.

You can build your own releases if you want to, but be forewarned that it
can easily take several hours, and require a good chunk of disk space.
You will need to cvsup the actual CVS repo, not just the checked-out source.
Also, read the comments at the top of the release Makefile.
