Hi, I'm asking here because I think this can be a known problem. After finishing a make world, and booting a new kernel, I always receive this message: ---- Fault trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode fault virtual address = 0xf2a5d000 fault code = supervisor write, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xf01e1f2c stack pointer = 0x10:0xf01ecf24 frame pointer = 0x10:0xf244d360 code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = Idle interrupt mask = bio trap number = 12 panic: page fault syncing disks... ---- Stops here, but I can type and scroll the contents of the virtual terminal. I left a long period (more than a month since the last cvsup). This is the dmesg from a working kernel: ---- Copyright (c) 1992-1997 FreeBSD Inc. Anyway, it only works when booting with fbsdboot. With the old kernel, the machine is very stable, and can do a complete make world in about 10 hours (If this matters, it is overclocked to 160MHz). I'm not sure, but it appears that it crashes when going to probe the CD-ROM. Thanks
