Hi,

Running

FreeBSD storm 12.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 12.0-CURRENT #4 r320894: Tue Jul 11 14:24:19 EDT 2017 root@storm:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC amd64

Setting up a gjournal partition. I run

# gjournal label -f /dev/gpt/var

According to the docs, I expect to get /dev/gpt/var.journal. Instead,
/dev/gpt/var vanishes. I do find the missing device,
though... attached to a /dev/diskid node.

# gjournal list
Geom name: gjournal 2129627395
ID: 2129627395
Providers:
1. Name: diskid/DISK-WD-WCAW36477062p5.journal
   Mediasize: 52613348864 (49G)
   Sectorsize: 512
   Mode: r0w0e0
Consumers:
1. Name: diskid/DISK-WD-WCAW36477062p5
   Mediasize: 53687091200 (50G)
   Sectorsize: 512
   Stripesize: 0
   Stripeoffset: 2148532224
   Mode: r1w1e1
   Jend: 53687090688
   Jstart: 52613348864
   Role: Data,Journal

I would *expect* the device to appear as part of the device node I
created. There's no warning in the man page that it'll get moved over
to /dev/diskid.

If I disable diskid and gptid, the journal appears on da3p5.journal.

Should I be able to gjournal GPT devices? Is this a software bug or
doc bug? Or am I reading the wrong doc?

Thanks,
==ml
