I think so too.  But I don't want to commit it until (a) somebody
has reviewed it, and (b) somebody has done a make world with it and
verified that things still seem to work after that.  As I mentioned
before, I am not able to do that test myself right now, because my
-current system is temporarily spammed for a paywork job.

The assembler is too critical of a component to make untested commits.
If I broke it badly enough, it would be impossible for people to
recover except by a full reinstall.

As soon as I'm satisfied that the patch has been reviewed and tested
adequately, I'll be happy to commit it.
