I recall fighting with this, but not the exact problem.  After it worked
once, I changed a few minor settings and found it would only work that
one particular way.  See if creating /etc/pccard.conf with just the irq
10 line makes a difference.  I only have "-z" for pccard flags in
/etc/rc.conf.
