Hi, I just cvsup'ed with *default release=cvs tag=RELENG_4, inorder to have a fresh system that jdk14 could be built upon. What i got as -STABLE is a FreeBSD 4.8-RC #5 System, that is all except stable. It cant cc, i get Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode and i wonder what happens. After all is 4.8-RC (Release Candidate) a synonym with -STABLE?? Whats going on here? My system used to work fine with *default release=cvs tag=RELENG_4_7 (4.7-RELEASE-p7) Has anyone experinced any strange problems when updating from 4.7-RELEASE-p7 to 4.8-RC ?? Notice that i have experienced this 4.8 behaviours in 2 consecutive attemts. I have 4.7, its all nice and well. I build world/kernel -STABLE (4.8) and the system produces Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode in almost any make/cc activity I boot with 4.7, and re cvsup. I end up in a 4.8RC system which is unstable like that in step 2! Any help apreciated. ---------------------------------------------------------------- | go to the source -> http://www.softlab.ece.ntua.gr/~mantzios | ---------------------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
