The only AMI disk controllers listed in HARDWARE.TXT are:

AMI FastDisk controllers that are true BusLogic MultiMaster
	clones are also supported.

In the upcoming 4.0-RELEASE, these are also supported:

AMI MegaRAID Express and Enterprise family controllers (all
models). Booting from these controllers is not supported.

There seem to be quite a few gigabit NICs supported. Consult the
HARDWARE.TXT list supplied with the release you're interested in, or see
the "Supported Hardware" section of the FreeBSD handbook at

	http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/

Ciao,
Sheldon.
