Subject: Sound problem with Ensoniq 1373

I have a 4.3-Stable system with an Ensoniq 1373 PCI sound card. It
works fine for Realplayer and plays CDs, too. But it won't play
.wav or other files. Gnome is completely silent.

It uses the pcm driver:
pcm0: <AudioPCI ES1373-8> port 0xd800-0xd83f irq 9 at device 9.0 on pci0

Any idea what could be going on here?
