The softupdates license has changed to 2-clause BSD-style with no more restrictions on use. The files were repocopied into their "natural" locations (sys/ufs/ffs) so that symlinks are no longer required. This has been done retroactively to all older branches that have the soft updates code. The actual process of doing the copies etc got messed up, but it should have been sorted out now.
