/boot/defaults/loader.conf, based on comments in the dumpon(8)
manpage, should have a line something like this (in the "Kernel
settings" section ?):

#dumpdir="special_file" # Tell kernel to crash-dump to "special_file" (eg, /dev/ad0s1b). See dumpon(8)
