I thought the unstable (if we can call in this way, perhaps better use 
"current") was the 3.23.xx
The 3.22.26a is IMHO the stable one 3.22.26 with a minor patch (the "a" in 
the version) that don't justify a jump to a 3.22.27

I think it is right if you put in the develop the new 3.23
