work, at least with my model:

(some time ago this controller was detected as ICH9)

ATA channel 7:

Here are some errors I see when trying to burncd (erase and data):

directly
acd0: FAILURE - SETFEATURES SET TRANSFER MODE status=3D51<READY,DSC,ERROR>=

error=3D40<UNCORRECTABLE>
acd0: FAILURE - MODE_SELECT_BIG timed out
acd0: WARNING - TEST_UNIT_READY freeing taskqueue zombie request
