And I sent the results of my tests 5 minutes after your mail, doh!  :-)

I guess a quick-fix for the driver would be to force WOL_MCAST off
(internally) and remove it from the device capabilities list.  I can
probably submit a tested patch that would do exactly that; lemme know.
