Dear Questions@FreeBSD.org, Reading through the LINT config file on a dreary day, I ran into the following: # # CPU_DISABLE_5X86_LSSER disables load store serialize (i.e. enables # reorder). This option should not be used if you use memory mapped # I/O device(s). # How do I identify any memory mapped I/O devices I may have in my system? # # CPU_FASTER_5X86_FPU enables faster FPU exception handler. # Why isn't this one set by the FAILSAFE option? Is this one processor specific? I have an AMD K6-233, should I enable not it for some reason? # # CPU_WT_ALLOC enables write-through allocation. # What is write-through allocation? Will it slow down or speed up my system? Please CC me, as I am not on the list.
