Trying to figure out how to configure sendmail, etc., in the wee small hours that are the only time allowed by work and active young child is perhaps not the best way. My apologies to everyone. I didn't even know what happened to my email, because all the email I downloaded this morning (300+) disappeared into limbo, so I didn't see what happened to it, or what responses to correct me may have been directed my way. [If anyone on this list _did_ send me an email, *sheepishly* could you please do so again?] But, yes, I had malconfigured sendmail, and that is what caused this bounced email. I was trying to set my local hostname in FreeBSD 2.2.2 as Penelope. My email address should not have "Penelope" anywhere in it--I have a dynamic PPP account with my ISP, interactive.net, so my email address should be cbooth@onyx.interactive.net....The "#I.added.this.10/21/97" comment was supposed to be just that--a comment so that I could follow my changes and undo them if they were wrong. [Aaaugh!! I am in Linux now, which should work okay, but now I am feeling paranoid about this, too.] Again, my apologies to Mr. Bond and everybody on the FreeBSD mailing list. -- ________________________________ Chris Booth cbooth@onyx.interactive.net
