The oddest thing; I just upgraded to BIND 8.4.1, from the ports collection (bind84.tar.gz). Compiled the lot, installed, and ran the thing. Seems to work fine. Then I check my syslog: Aug 12 02:34:29 asarian-host named[6127]: starting (/usr/local/etc/named.conf). named 8.3.6-REL Mon Aug 11 13:32:37 CEST 2003 root@asarian-host.net:/usr/home/asarian-host/temp/bind8/work/src/bin/named "named 8.3.6-REL" ?? I thought I had just gone to 8.4.1? And yes, /usr/local/sbin/named is intalled as a new binary; and the Makefile really says 8.4.1. :) Am I overlooking something? Thanks. - Mark ------- P.S. Not that it is really important, I guess, but the src dir it compiled from is not "/usr/home/asarian-host/temp/bind8/work/src/bin/named" As syslog says, but: "/usr/home/asarian-host/temp/bind84/work/src/bin/named"
