hi.

add following in your named.conf:
logging {
        channel default_ch {
                file "/var/log/named/named.log";
                severity info;
                print-category yes;
                print-time yes;
        };

        channel security_ch {
                file "/var/log/named/named_sec.log";
                severity info;
                print-category yes;
                print-time yes;
        };

        category default { default_ch; };
        category security { security_ch; };

};

and you`ll see what are happening.
