            Bug ID: 238096
Summary: www/firefox: some videos don't have sound - include
                    sndio in default audio options
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: gecko@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: dch@freebsd.org
          Assignee: gecko@FreeBSD.org
             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(gecko@FreeBSD.org)

e.g. https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=3D_oWcfUt9QUs (a silent gnn is a rare t=
hing)

the same video can be played directly via multimedia/mpv and it seems that
firefox chooses incorrect codecs.

while this may be specific to my computer setup, I have found that switching
the
backend to sndio resolves this issue, on 3 different systems (intel i915, U=
SB
audio devices, HDMI output).

Is it possible to add SNDIO to the default OPTIONS_MULTI_AUDIO? the overall
difference in size to www/firefox is negligable - a few KiB only, and it sa=
ves
having to rebuild a very very large port each update.

Alternatively, I can provide more debugging info if needed, I'm just not su=
re
where to look for that.
