Put this in /boot/loader.conf:

nvidia-modeset_load="YES"

Remove nvidia related entries from /etc/rc.conf

You may need linux_load="YES" in loader as well if applicable.

Reboot after entries are made.

/usr/local/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0/README
