When installing from the 5.1 cd's kernel configuration never shows up. FreeBSD 5 does not have an interactive kernel configuration like 4.X has. Instead it uses "device hints", which are described in the Handbook. In most cases it should not be needed to set special hardware driver options. > 2. I have a 3Com 3c905B-TX, and a 80GB Maxtor and both works fine under FreeBSD 5.2RC. Could you please try 5.2RC2 (or the upcomming 5.2-RELEASE) and see if the problem still exists? --=20 Simon L.
