I thought to use construction like that:

ALLOW_DEPRECATED = true
DEPRECATED_VARS = CLEAN CLEANDIR CRYPT PROFILE SECURE GAMES INFO LIBC_R

.if defined(ALLOW_DEPRECATED) && !empty(ALLOW_DEPRECATED)
NO_${var}=${NO${var}}
