Running "/usr/sbin/periodic daily" reliably locks up my PC164 with 5.2-CURRENT from June 13. (A June 15 kernel would already lock up while going multiuser.) It doesn't panic, it doesn't crash into SRM, it just locks up. After a reset the machine gets stuck in SRM self test; it needs to be power-cycled. I suspect it's nothing in daily itself but rather all the forking/ execing. (sh -x didn't show any likely culprit.) -- Christian "naddy" Weisgerber naddy@mips.inka.de
