kib is right. As I described in comment #9, the design of Hyper-V live back=

of a guest is that: the Hyper-V host only backs up the guest disk image, and
the guest RAM is not backed up. The Hyper-V host needs to temporarily freeze
the guest's mounted file systems to make sure they're consistent.=20

Thanks for the pointer to growfs(8). I'll study how it's implemented.
