In the bookstore here at the Univ. of New Mexico there are a number of bags from Jansport that have padded portions for carrying laptops. They (Jansport) also sell something called the "Laptop Sleeve" which looks like it should hold most laptops and could then be used in any backpack (found on www.jansport.com). Colin E.
