Hi,
this is with reference to the free BSD networking code for ipv6.
Could any body tell why in link local addresses & other link local related things they are storing if_index in the second 16bits of the address. for eg there will be statement like
ia->ia_addr.sa_addr.sin_add16[1] = ifp->if_index.
Please tell me its significance & how it is useful & why u have chosen to use as such.
