i am trying to connect a freebsd 2.0 486dx machine a thin
ethernet network and when i try the following:

ifconfig le0 128.194.169.53 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 128.194.169.255

i get the message:

ifconfig: ioctl(SIOCGIFFLAGS): no such interface

when i try dmesg, i get the following:

le0: no board found at 0x300
le0 not found at 0x300

however, i have an ethernet card installed which worked when i
was running freebsd 1.5.1 on this machine a month ago. it has
not been tampered with. any ideas?

thanks,
tom
