Some dim memory tells me there used to be a port of "buffer"
(misc/buffer). In fact
- the NetBSD one still has a FreeBSD Id in its makefile,
- there is one on my old 2.2.1R CD-ROM (alas, I don't have any newer
  ones).

What happened to this port?
