As I already say, I add uap->tv != 0 check before printing,
so it is _not_ stack garbage. It may means that atv is damaged somehow.
I'll try to add more checks to see how it is damaged.

I use fvwm95
For poll things are ok, I see no diagnostics from poll code, all of them
comes from select code.

Maybe later, your patch is too big and affect syscons. Currently I ran
privately patched syscons because standard version cause random reboots
on vidcontrol call.
