I hate to disagree, but Irix is SysV, with some BSD compatability bits
retained.

%uname -aR
IRIX64 wraith 6.5 6.5.18m 10151453 IP35

This can be found in many of the files on Irix:

# Copyright (c) 1984 AT&T

#
# THIS IS UNPUBLISHED PROPRIETARY SOURCE CODE OF AT&T
# The copyright notice above does not evidence any
# actual or intended publication of such source code.

And looking around you'll also find:

Taking care of SGIs is how I pay my bills, and while it's many things, BSD
isn't one of them.
