  FreeBSD's booteasy can boot from the 2nd drive, at least on IDE systems.
I just displays something like "F5 - Disk 2", and then you press F5 to
display the boot selections for disk 2.  Very neat.

  I think the problem is with the 2940 and the Jaz.  The Jaz is a
removable disk, and I recall special options in the Adaptec bios for bios
support for various removable, and extra drive type stuff.
