["Jordan K. Hubbard" <jkh@time.cdrom.com>] | | Hmmm. Weird. I have heard similar reports before, but a work-around | was always to configure the modem as com1 (sio0), after which stuff | just worked. Are you sure on that one? Is your modem even (sioxx) | probed at startup time? thanx a lot to you (and all the others) for good advice. I found that entering "term" and writing "~p" worked, and most of the distribution was successfully downloaded. then, suddenly, the PPP client lost connection, and I was not able to get it up running again no matter what I did. really weird. I'm going on my christmas holiday tomorrow (sunday) and I really had to have my machine up running as to receive mail when I'm away etc. so I put the backup back in. I'll try again in january, I promise. ;-) merry Xmas, -- Peter Svaar | Phone #: +47 22 69 59 94 peter@svaar.no | Pager #: +47 96 76 83 83 peter@bofh.com | WWW: http://www.svaar.no/
