System: FreeBSD twintower.asylum.net 5.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 5.0-RELEASE #0: Sun Mar 2 16:12:08 CET 2003 root@twintower.asylum.net:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/TD4-SMP-DEBUG-i586 i386

<machine, os, target, libraries (multiple lines)>
Intergraph TD-4 SMP box (PCI/EISA), 2 Pentium 100 MHz CPUs, 192 MB FPM RAM,
NCR SCSI 53c810 based, all SCSI disks, Matrox Millenium Graphics card,
FreeBSD 5.0-Release (same problem on 4.7 and 4.8 Release)

>Description:
	running bonnie with SMP kernel leads within seconds to kernel dump;
(building kernel with SMP kernel does as well,
running gnome2 sooner or later too, but I don't have output of
gdb at hand for these cases.
On these same tasks and in general, the machine is stable running
with the GENERIC non-SMP kernel config.
The RAM is stable, too: removing modules or switching
them around (down to only 32 MB) does not change anything, it passes
memtest (from ports) and standalone from www.memtest86.com w/o
        a hickup.

The same thing happens on 4.7 Release and 4.8 Release and
        5.0 Release.

Output of mptable, pciconf, gdb -k and dmesg, kernel config below

>How-To-Repeat:
boot into SMP kernel and start bonnie
>Fix:

No idea, other than running GENERIC non-SMP kernel

            Cheers, Stefan
