            Bug ID: 277827
Summary: x11/nvidia-driver: NVidia driver causes kernel crash
during boot when it is loaded from /boot/loader.conf
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: danfe@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: yuri@freebsd.org
             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(danfe@FreeBSD.org)
          Assignee: danfe@FreeBSD.org

After port and kernel update the system began to crash at boot, when
/boot/loader.conf has nvidia-modeset_load=3D"YES".

See the attached screenshot.

Interestingly, the same driver loads successfully manually using kldload(8).
This puzzles me.

No other kernel modules are involved.

I had to prevent nvidia-modeset.ko during boot in order to boot the system =
at
all.
