You're both correct, really. This could be done in using pkg magic, but the
postgresql packages should be preferrably be installable in parallel.

If a port depends on a postgresql *server* port, it will still need to be b=
uilt
as a separate package for every version, as the pkg mechanism works at pres=
ent.=20

Very few ports should really depend on the server port, though.
