One obvious difference is that this is for version 0.16, while the other po=
rt
is for 0.17 (development version).

- The patches to smesh need some care: just removing the functionality is n=
ot
OK.
- If we are generally building I see no need to split the modules with plug=
s.
- 0.17 required an ugly hack to the CMake build.

Both ports need more testing, but it's probably easier to work on 0.17 even
when it is a moving target.

If the submitter wants to take over and maintain the 0.17 version, I am OK =
with
that.
