Maybe try freebsd-hardware next time. That drive will work just fine under FreeBSD as-is. It will be seen just as any other removable-media SCSI device. Using it in parallel-port mode is a different story and requires that a driver be compiled into the kernel, which does exist in -current (and maybe -stable).
