There seems to be something wrong with the perl 5.8 package - I think
it might be failing to set up some of its directories when installed
from the package, as opposed to the port. For example, pkg_add gives
this error:

Destination directory /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.2/mach doesn't exist or isn't a directory

and the /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.2/ directory is indeed not
created (this caused fallout for other ports that try to install
there).

Can someone please take a look at this?

Kris
