I had no idea quad = port NICs were so cheap.=20 According to Dlink's website the DFE570TX is capable of delivering a = bandwidth of 800 Mb/s. Is this just the marketing department distorting = the facts? Since 4 x 100 Mb =3D 400Mb I'm guessing they're referring to = full Duplex operation, i.e. 400Mb/s send + 400Mb/s receive =3D 800Mb/s?? = Also, how does one configure these things? Do you just set all the ports = to the same IP address, or is it more complicated than that? I read an article a while back about tuning Samba. In this article = they made a reference to "binding" one of the CPUs in an SMP machine to = the NIC. Is this possible under FreeBSD (4.1)? Can someone point me at a = URL which tells how to do it? So far my searches haven't turned up = anything useful. Thanks in advance, ~Brandon =20 ------=_NextPart_000_00C0_01BFFA43.DB68E220 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.00.3013.2600" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2> Thanks to all who = wrote about=20 the DLINK-DFE570TX.
