The cheops source code is excessively Linux-centric.  I attempted last
fall to make a port, but just gave up.

I think the reason why configure is failing is because it isn't looking in
the correct "FreeBSD" places for the libraries, or something similar to
that (Linux vs FreeBSD differences.)
