good point. i've wanted to work on this for nearly a year now but never
found the time to do so.

OPTIONSREVISION++ or
OPTIONS_ALWAYSASK=yes

plus, when upgrading via package the installer could try and find a
suitable customized package (ghostscript should do A4 for me etc).

i think i'll look into this next month. perhaps there is a way to
implement stuff for the current ports system at least.
