i tried that and it does work, however, i found it is too unstable
for.  i look forward to the day when we have a freebsd native port of
jdk.  if it runs as well as the flash plugin it will be a major
benefit since the browser itself has greatly improved over the past
year.  since i am not a programmer there is little i can do besides
testing the port once it comes out.

just out of curiosity, when are you estimating that the port will be
made available?  thanks in advance.
