Any Unix will be better. In more ways than one. 

Use FreeBSD 2.2.7 on a relatively strong hardware foundation (i.e. 256M
RAM and SCSI drives) and Apache 1.3.0 web server, and sendmail. You will
have little to no headaches.

And if you do have headaches, this list is by far the best support I've
ever encountered, commercial or not.
