Actually, the *real* purpose of a core team is to reward those folks who
have shown a willingness to go the extra mile to make FreeBSD usable to
the masses.

As a punishment, they get to argue about non-technical issues like
booting Terry off the FreeBSD mailing lists due to overload the mail
server, but *most* technical arguements still occur within the group of
people the person feels is most capable, core group or not.
