I think that the real problem is that the system BIOS needs to support
booting from USB floppy devices. I've not seen one yet that supports
it, but they could be out there, and I just havn't run across one yet.

Have you taken a look inside the boxes? They may have connectors
internally for a floppy drive, which you could hook up during the
install and remove later.
