>Description:
	on the above referenced platform, when I insert a USB Optical 
trackball (M$ if it matters), I get an error saying device error, and
it disables the port.  It doesn't even get the ID string.  On my 
previous laptop (Toshiba Satellite 4005CDS), it "just works" (this was
an OHCI interface, however). 

I am willing to help debug, but have no idea on where to start.
