If you're thinking commercial database software, please don't forget
Faircom (also the original implementors of Informix's C-ISAM)

Faircom actively supports FreeBSD and have satisfied this customer for
over fourteen years.  For many database applications their C-Tree
data file management libraries are more than adequate and they offer
an SQL server with ODBC support is available as well.
