Perhaps i am spinning ... but from what i can tell from the
openoffice.org port's source code the icu libraries that come with
openoffice.org are versions 3.6 whereas the devel/icu port is version
3.8 ... To my understanding the openoffice.org ports do not use our
ports version of icu but use the OOo bundled versions instead.

If that IS the case ... shouldn't this library have linked against the
OOo provided libicule ... whereas the missing symbol seems to suggest
something during the port build decided to link against the port
installed version of libicu instead.

Can anybody confirm this analysis ... and if so ... provide a way to
make this port build using the bundled icu instead of the port version
?

With kind regards,
