Nothing to it.  Plug it in, give each an IP address on a private
subnet (I usually use 192.168.*), and go.

I recommend http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/~rowland/FreeBSD/natd.html.

Note that if you have just two computers, as is the case here, you
ought to be able to use the single crossover cable in place of 
the hub + two regular cables this page describes.
